About/Contact Us

About Mary:
I am a student whose life changed when I discovered historical romance in 2012. This blog was started to spread my love of historical romance novels, but occasionally books of other genres may be reviewed here.

I started reviewing in late 2012, and to date (Sept 16, 2013) I've done a bit over 100 reviews. I am slowly transferring review from my Goodreads shelf - Mary C.'s Bookshelf  - to my blog.

My reviews are posted on Amazon pageand The Romance Reviews, and some on Romance Junkies.

I will only take requests for historical romance but am welcome to other genres of Literature and Nonfiction. Be forewarned, due to other obligations, I give no guarantee as to a definite date for a review (it can take from one week to a month unless a date is required). As much as I would love to read and review books, my free time is very limited,  so please understand if I am late in posting a review.
Due to increasing workload, I am not taking any review requests at the moment, unless your book is on Netgalley/Edelweiss (then I might consider it). If you want to be featured on Buried Under Romance, and your book is historical romance/erotica, contact me at All other requests sent to me will be ignored.

I am, however, welcome to beta read for authors. :) I've been a beta reader for Ella Quinn, Maggi Andersen, Sophie Barnes, Evangeline Holland, and more. Contact me at the above email address.

Our lovely reviewers! ____________________________________________________________

My love of books started as soon as I was able to read.  Even as a child, I remember taking a stack of library books with me on vacation.  My reading journey took me into the worlds of Victoria Holt, Mary Stewart, and Phyllis Whitney, then on to Georgette Heyer and regencies.  Next came the bodice rippers, then a variety of historical sagas, horror, and suspense, until I found my true love - historical romance.  I love to read them, and I love to talk about them.  I look forward to sharing some of my thoughts here on Buried Under Romance.

Starting at a young age, my reading begun with Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys and The Bobbsey Twins. Through out the years, my taste in books changed, starting with Betty Neels, Barbara Cartland and Kathleen Woodiwiss.  As I was introduced to historical romance, I knew I had found what I enjoyed reading the most.

If I am not reading a book, I am talking about books.  My love for historical romance has given me the opportunity to meet others that have the same love.  It has given me the desire to share with others my thoughts on books I read.  I look forward to sharing my thoughts with each of you.

My name is Ezrah but I go by Zeee.  I'm a 30 something Registered Nurse and a romance reader. I'm married to a frustrated rock star with one cat named Twylah (no, she is not named after Twilight!).  Historical Romance is my passion but I read Young Adult and a smattering or Sci-Fi as well.  I currently reside in Southern California but I was born and raised in the Philippines.

I blog at I Heart Romance (  When I get any free time, I love photography, digital scrap booking, and tinkering around my blog.

I am currently not accepting review requests.

Anna Bowling:
Writer, blogger, reader and lover of romance fiction.
Though I'm not reviewing, I'm happy to take suggestions for discussion topics and author interviews.

I obtain all of the books I review either through direct purchase, review copies from Netgalley or Edelweiss, or as part of a blog tour. In every case, my reviews reflect my honest and sincere opinions and are in no way influenced by another party. (Note: I receive no compensation, monetary or otherwise, for my reviews; they are purely for self-enjoyment).

About My Reviews
You will likely see mostly ratings of 4 and 5 on my blog, and there are several reasons for it. First, I dislike snarky reviews are they are neither beneficial to readers, nor to authors. Second, I read for personal enjoyment, and I rate favorably if the book does not have major flaws. That said, I always review honestly, albeit more critical with some books - it all depends on whether I deem the book needing further analysis.
