WHAT A RECKLESS ROGUE NEEDS by Vicky Dreiling (March 25, 2014; Forever Mass Market; $8.00)
WILL THE ROGUE'S PERFECT PLAN . . . Colin Brockhurst, Earl of Ravenshire, has no desire to wed, this season or any other. So when his father demands he give up his wild ways and take a wife, Colin refuses. But his father raises the stakes and threatens to sell the ancestral home if Colin doesn't comply. Now Colin has no choice but to find a wife. Unfortunately, the only woman he wants is the one whose heart he broke years ago.

Regardless of the ton's whispers, Lady Angeline Brenham won't settle for anything less than true love. After rejecting more than her share of suitable suitors, spinsterhood looms before her-until the devilishly handsome Colin reappears in her life with a proposition. Angeline vows to keep her feet on the ground and her heart in check. That is, until one searing kiss melts her resolve and reignites a burning desire for more . . .

1. How did you think of the idea for What a Reckless Rogue Needs?
The premise is based on Ten Things I hate about you, which is based The Taming of the Shrew. I love Shakespeare.
2. What is your favorite scene to write in the books?
Actually that varies per book. For example, my favorite scene in my debut book HOW TO MARRY A DUKE is the proposal scene. It’s a twist on Cinderella. I love, love, love that scene.

In How to SEDUCE A SCOUNDREL,there is a scene that shows Julianne’s growth. Her words to Aunt Hester have stayed with me all this time. “I came here with girlish aspirations of winning his heart, but I leave as a woman with the knowledge that hearts are not won. They are given.”

In HOW TO RAVISH A RAKE, my favorite scene is when Will reads Christopher Marlowe’s poem The Passionate Shepherd to His Flock.

In WHAT A WICKED EARL WANTS, my favorite scene is when Bellingham knows Laura is nervous about sleeping with him, but he makes her laugh with his silly rules.

In WHAT A RECKLESS ROGUE NEEDS, it’s definitely the love scene. They were wild together. J
3. List some of your music playlist that inspired you.
a) Bruno Mars/When I was your man
b) Bruno Mars/Marry You
c)Jason Derulo Marry Me
d) Korzeniowski/Romeo & Juliette
e) Basingstoke Assembly/Becoming Jane Soundtrack

4. What do you want readers to get the most out of your books?
Love, laughter, family, and maybe a tear or two.

5. Are you a pantser or a plotter?
Total Pantser. The only thing I plan is the one sentence high concept premise.

6. Any teasers for what's coming up next?

Thanks so much for the interview, Vicky! I can't wait to read Harry's book.

About Vicky Dreiling:
Vicky Dreiling is a confirmed historical romance junkie and Anglophile. Frequent business trips to the United Kingdom allowed her to indulge her passion for all things Regency England. Bath, Stonehenge, and Spencer House are among her favorite places. She is, however, truly sorry for accidentally setting off a security alarm in Windsor Castle. That unfortunate incident led her British colleagues to nickname her Trouble.

When she's not writing, Vicky enjoys reading, films, concerts, and, most of all, long lunches with friends. A native Texan, she holds degrees in English literature and marketing.
