Catherine has spent her life being the perfect princess. She’s kept her hands clean, her head down, and most importantly—men at arm’s length. After all, most men are after only one thing, and for Cathy there’s a lot more at stake than her bed; she has to worry about the fate of an entire nation. But at the rate she’s going, Cathy is afraid she’ll give the Virgin Queen a run for her money. She is tired of waiting for someone good enough to come along. She has a plan, and it all hinges on seducing the one man who seems utterly unimpressed by all things royal. The one man she is tempted by more than any other . . .

When David arrives at the royal wedding of his friend, the newly ordained Duchess Samantha Rousseau, he expected to feel uncomfortable and out of his element, but he wasn’t prepared to be targeted by Prince Alex’s gorgeous younger sister. With Cathy’s giant blue eyes, killer figure, and sense of humor, it won’t take long before he gives in. But when he finds out just how innocent the crown princess really is, will he play the part of knight in shining armor or the dashing rogue?

 1. What was the inspiration behind RECKLESSLY ROYAL?

Cathy was a fun character to write in SUDDENLY ROYAL and she really grabbed my attention as I was writing Sam’s story. As I thought about her, I knew that I wanted to explore how hard it would be to have one personality and role in the public versus how she would behave in private. I also wondered how she would be able to trust that people liked the real her… and if she wasn’t sure people truly liked her and weren’t using her, then how could she open up for more intimate experiences?

2. What was your favorite scene to write in the novel?

This is always a tough question, because I don’t want to give anything away. Let’s just say that there are a lot of ‘almosts and not quiets’. The tease and tension were so much fun to write.

3. If you could invite one of your characters with you on a trip around the world, who would it be and why?

Chadwick! We’d have so much fun. He is Sam’s assistant and would be a blast to travel with. Of course, I’d really love to travel with any of my characters. Or hang out with them. Or just stare at Alex, David, and Max. Yeah. I could do that. ;)

4. What is your writing schedule like?

Whenever and wherever I can! I have a four year old, so I try to write while she is in school and then sometimes late at night when everyone else is asleep. My husband is awesome, because he will send me away on the weekends so I can write uninterrupted at times.

5. When you are not writing, what do you like to do?

I love to craft, make things, and paint. And READ of course!

6. Finally, what message do you wish to convey to your readers?

To be true to yourself. To not waste time on people or things that don’t matter.

  1. Hi Nichole! Oh I love your writing and story telling skills! I absolutely love the fact that these are modern royalties!!! And I absolutely love reading Historical romances so that says a lot about your writing.
What I love about royal books are the obstacles the both of them have to get through to be together. Whether it's living with the fact that one is royal and will be in the eyes of the people or one is not. Or if one is ready to play the role they were given and born with.

  2. Romance, mixed w/a bit of action....

  3. I love books about royalty because it let's me go into a world I will never experience:)
