Throwback Thursday: Historical Romance Edition #14

Happy Thursday, everyone! And welcome to a new feature on Buried Under Romance and Love Saves the World.

What is Throwback Thursday?
Traditionally, Throwback Thursday celebrates nostalgia, asking participants to post a personal photo or an image from their past -- usually from 5 to 10 years ago. There are a lot of book blogs that also do a book-related Throwback Thursday.

The Historical Romance Edition:
Since Tin of Love Saves the World and I are unapologetic lovers of historical romances, we've decided to focus on our beloved genre.

Here are our rules:
1. It must be posted on a Thursday.
2. It must be a historical romance novel published before October 3, 2008.

So, the novel I'm featuring is...

                                                     Nobody's Darling

Nobody's Darling by Teresa Medeiros, published first in 1998
                                                      Goodreads | Amazon
Billy Darling never enjoyed being a wanted man until the day Miss Esmerelda Fine marched into the Tumbleweed Saloon and pointed her derringer at his heart. Lucky for him, she's a mighty poor shot. Instead of killing him, she hires him to find her runaway brother. He should turn down her offer. He should resist her charms. But he doesn't. Because there comes a time in every man's life when he's got nothing left to lose...but his heart.

This blurb does not do this book justice. I don't read much Western historicals now, but Nobody's Darling holds a special place in my heart. The story is immensely interesting, with twists and turns that are there for laughs, but also to expose more of the characters' personalities. I love, love, love Billy and Esmerelda, and this is one of the few books that I re-read time and time again. Though I rate favorably as a reviewer, this is on my absolute favorites shelf. Seriously, I cannot recommend this highly enough. Please do yourself a favor and read this if you trust my opinion. >.<

Now, head over to Tin @ Love Saves the World and Ki Pha @ Doing Some Reading for their pick of the week. :-)

Fellow historical romance readers are welcome to join us. Enter your link below so we can visit your TBT: HR Edition post for the week! (Then go here to copy the Link code to your blogs.)

Happy Reading!

  1. LOL Yes, I do trust your opinion. And Teresa is a fabulous writer.

  2. I've only read a few of Teresa's works and I've enjoyed them. I love the cover of this one -- and would love to see something as bold and brightly-designed published now. ^_^

    1. This is actually the cover of the original. It didn't get republished so this cover has been the same for two decades. :)

  3. This author is so goood!!! I love her. I have been trying to read some of her older stories. I have yet to read this one, but so going to the top of my list.

  4. OMG, Nobody's Darling is one of my FAVORITE Teresa Medeiros books!!! It's so good and soooooo sexy.
