Throwback Thursday: Historical Romance #16

Happy Thursday, everyone! And welcome to a new feature on Buried Under Romance and Love Saves the World.

What is Throwback Thursday?
Traditionally, Throwback Thursday celebrates nostalgia, asking participants to post a personal photo or an image from their past -- usually from 5 to 10 years ago. There are a lot of book blogs that also do a book-related Throwback Thursday.

The Historical Romance Edition:
Since Tin of Love Saves the World and I are unapologetic lovers of historical romances, we've decided to focus on our beloved genre.

Here are our rules:
1. It must be posted on a Thursday.
2. It must be a historical romance novel published before October 3, 2008.

So, the novel I'm featuring is...

                                           Blackthorne's Bride

                                     Blackthorne's Bride  by Shana Galen, published first in 2007
                                                  Goodreads | Amazon

Blurb:
Tired of being wooed for her dowry, Lady Madeleine Castleigh has given up on finding true love. But on her way to elope with a boring but honorable philanthropist, her carriage is seized by a nobleman on the run. Maddie is alarmed, especially when she catches sight of Jack Martingale, Marquess of Blackthorne, exactly the sort of wickedly attractive man she's sworn to avoid.

Chased by a powerful duke with revenge on his mind and a private army in tow, Jack has no choice but to confiscate Madeleine's carriage. He promises to take his leave once they arrive at the wedding in Gretna Green but doesn't count on his growing desire for the blue-eyed beauty. When the unexpected appearance of Maddie's father and the mistakes of a drunken priest alter everyone's plans, Maddie is furious—until she discovers that Blackthorne's kisses arouse a passion in her she'd long ago stopped praying for.

                                                           ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At this point I have to admit that most of the historical romance I read are published relatively recently, so I'm running out of titles for TbT that I have read. So, this is one of those books that I would like to finish reading, but haven't quite gotten to it. Still, the story is interesting and I'm a fan of Shana Galen's books, so I recommend this. :)
Now, head over to Tin @ Love Saves the World and Ki Pha @ Doing Some Reading for their pick of the week. :-)
Fellow historical romance readers are welcome to join us. Enter your link below so we can visit your TBT: HR Edition post for the week! (Then go here to copy the Link code to your blogs.)
Happy Reading!
  4. That is a trip down memory lane! I will say that is one of my favorite from my backlist, and it was nominated for a Rita. I've actually thought about that book A LOT recently because I'm writing the last book in the series and hope to have Nick and Ashley's book out in May.
    Thanks for featuring me, Mary! What a nice surprise!
