Feature & Follow Friday (#4) + Book Blogger Hop (#5)

Book Blogger Hop
Alison Can Read Feature & Follow

Feature and Follow Friday is a meme hosted by Parajunkee & Alison Can Read

General rules to Feature & Follow Friday:

1. Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts and any one else you want to follow on the list
2. Follow our Featured Bloggers (This week is Reading With a Vengeance)

3. Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don't just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don't say "HI"

4. If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love...and the followers

This Week's Question: What book are you embarrassed to admit you LOVED? (try to think beyond Twilight).

Well, in the past (like a year ago), I would have said the entire romance genre. I can't say I've been a closet reader as I've just been too embarrassed to really give the genre a try. But now, I love it. Even though I'm not embarrassed to admit that I like romance books, I still wouldn't want to admit that to my coworkers, for example. >.<

Now, for Book Blogger Hop

Q: When you are out of town, do you still participate in weekly memes or do you have your post scheduled to appear on your blog and perhaps check back? Or do you not participate at all?

Well, I've not been blogging for a while and only recently learned that I can schedule posts (very recently). So I'll try. Otherwise I may just skip it if I'm too busy to do it. Sorry, guys!

  3. I love scheduling posts, it makes blogging much easier even when I'm not out of town.

I don't read the genre often, but when I do read romances I get a little bashful, probably because it is out of character for me.

  4. LOL You're too funny Mary. You just recently found out you can schedule a post just shocked me, yet not. XD

Lots of romance readers gets embarrassed to admit they love it! Even authors of this genre sometimes feel nervous admitting they love it to people outside of their writer events and to admit they're an author in that category.

  6. I felt that way too until a few months ago. Romance novels used to be the books I'd never look at in a book store and would avoid at all costs, now I love reading them and I do tell people I love it even if they think it's ridiculous. I can't however admit to liking paranormal romance. I think all readers have books they'd rather not share or admit to reading. I guess we have to settle for talking to others who do enjoy them. :)

  14. I love romance but I'm funny about it. I gravitate to paranormal romance or romantic suspense with a little historical romance thrown in. The little Harlequin type romances I shun...mainly because I'll have them read in an hour and that just doesn't work for me.
